Three Cairo council seats up for election this fall

Three seats on the Cairo City Council are up for election this fall, and on Monday night the Cairo City Council established the qualifying fee for the council races.
Council members representing Districts One, Three and Five are all up for election in the municipal general election on Nov. 5 .
The council set the qualifying fee at $219.60.
District One is currently represented by Councilman Lannis Thorton; District Three is represented by Councilman Bobby Gwaltney; and District Five is represented by Councilman Jerry Cox.
Qualifying will be conducted Aug. 19-23 at Cairo City Hall.
