Investment needed to strengthen local golf course

In an effort to insure Tired Creek Golf Course continues to be a recreational asset for the community and surrounding area for years to come, a new management company is seeking investment in the new entity.
Tired Creek Management LLC has been organized and is preparing to lease the golf course and assets of the course from Cairo Recreation LLC by the end of the year.
The majority of stockholders in Cairo Recreation LLC have approved leasing the course and assets to Tired Creek Management LLC for the cost of the annual property taxes.
Louie Chastain and Sonny Marshall are heading up the capital campaign and seeking investments of $1,000 per share in the management company. A maximum of five shares will be sold to any investor.
According to Chastain and Marshall, a goal of selling 75 shares by Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. has been set.
Organizers of the new management company say they are optimistic they can better manage the course and implement some new management procedures to enhance the operations of the facility while at the same time more effectively market the course locally and in the surrounding area.

Many of those interested in investing in the new entity met Tuesday night at the clubhouse and it was anticipated that a board of directors would be elected.
