Christmas Parade is Thursday night

The Cairo Christmas Parade will step off at 7 p.m. tomorrow night, Thursday, Dec. 6, and will follow the traditional route from North Broad Street down through the central business district and end on South Broad Street at the First United Methodist Church.
There are 108 entries this year, including the man of the hour, Ole Saint Nick himself, who will make his first official visit of the season Thursday night.
This year’s parade will feature the Grady County Middle School Band, the Pelham High School Band, the Thomasville High School Band and the Cairo High School Syrupmaker Band.
The parade theme is “Christmas in Paradise” and Parade Chairman Michael Best says this year’s parade is shaping up to be one of the larger ones and, hopefully, most enjoyable.
While the mood is sure to be festive, the weather will be more seasonal than tropical with a high on Thursday predicted at 54 degrees and a low of 34 degrees, but thankfully, unlike last year, no rain is in the forecast.
