Drawing held for permits to hunt ducks at Tired Creek Lake

The interest in duck hunting at Tired Creek Lake was not what some members of the Grady County Lake Authority had anticipated and on Tuesday the names of hunters who had registered were drawn and dates for upcoming hunts were assigned. There are many more opportunities for hunts than there are registered hunters, and authority members will address that issue at an upcoming meeting.
On Saturday, Nov. 10 a Youth Hunt Day will be held. A limit of 12 boats with a maximum of two youth per boat with a supervising adult will be allowed. However, only eight hunters registered for the Youth Day.
Those youth hunters who have a slot to hunt along with a friend plus a supervising adult are Chase Hosey, Zakary Elkins, Beau Connell, Christopher Ryan Hosey, Asher Childs, Will Walden, Emma Grace Toole and Ava Cauley. The lake authority limited the youth hunt to youth 15 years of age or younger who are Grady County residents.
Adult hunters who are Grady County residents paid $25 and out-of-county residents paid $50 to register for a lottery for 216 hunting permits during the 2018-2019 duck hunting season. Those people whose names were drawn on Tuesday have until Oct. 31 to pay for up to two additional hunters at the same rate of $25 for residents and $50 for non residents.
