No comment on Grand Jury probe from commissioners at Tuesday’s meeting

The Grady County Commission received the Grand Jury presentments Tuesday morning, but commissioners did not discuss the Grand Jury’s decision to launch an investigation into alleged improper or unethical transactions by members of the county commission.
The Grand Jury voted and requested District Attorney Joe Mulholland to subpoena “those individuals and/or documentation that would answer any of the inquiries requested.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, Grady County Administrator J.C. (Buddy) Johnson III, said that the board had not been contacted by the District Attorney’s office or any investigating agency.
“The official specifics of the allegation has not been presented to the board of commissioners,” Johnson wrote in a message to The Messenger.
The Messenger only learned of the probe last week when the Grand Jury presentments were supplied to the newspaper to be published as a legal notice.
D.A. Mulholland could not be reached Tuesday following the Grady County commission meeting.
