No arrests yet in last week’s drive-by shooting in SW Cairo

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is continuing to investigate last week’s drive-by shooting that wounded a local teenager, but no arrests have been made in the case as yet. Jamy Steinberg, special agent in charge of the GBI Thomasville office says agents are continuing to gather information and are making progress in the case. “We’re trying to untangle some webs . . . and we’re following up on information,” Steinberg says.
Paul Cornilious Thomas, 19, was inside a home at 207 Sixth Ave. SW when multiple shots were fired from outside some time before 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, June  19. Thomas had a non-life-threatening wound to the back of his lower torso. Officers found multiple bullet holes in the house’s exterior and a car parked in front.
Anyone with information that could assist officers are asked to call 911, or the GBI in Thomasville, 229-225-4090.
