Police plan firearms course
The Cairo Police Department is hosting a firearms training next month and is now accepting pre-registration. Only the first 30 to register will be able to participate.
The first class will take place on Thursday, April 12, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the police department, 4 S. Broad St.
The second class is Saturday, April 14, beginning at 9 a.m. at the firing range. Participants will receive directions to the firing range during the first class.
Class members must have an unloaded but functioning handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition.
“If you’re looking to become more familiar with a recently purchased handgun or just need some assistance becoming more confident while safely handling a firearm, this class is for you,” states Cairo Police Chief Keith Sandefur.
There is a $25 fee to participate. Proceeds will go to “Shop with a Cop” of CPD.
