FedEx driver suffers gunshot wound

A freight driver for FedEx  traveling on GA Hwy. 111 South suffered a gun shot wound at approximately 5:45 Wednesday afternoon in south Grady County.
According to Grady County Sheriff Harry Young, the driver initially thought a mechanical issue with the truck had occurred and he pulled off the road near Reno. It was not until later he realized that his foot was bleeding and called for help.
He still was not aware he had been shot but thought that something had happened to the truck and caused injury to his foot. Sheriff Young says the driver was treated and released from Archbold Medical Center.
The bullet was recovered and the sheriff says it appears to be those commonly used by deer hunters. Authorities presume that the driver was hit by a stray bullet and was not targeted but they are interviewing nearby residents  seeking additional information. The sheriff said he believes it was a freak accident.
