Cairo Yule Parade is next week

The Cairo Christmas Parade next Thursday night will feature 94 entries including four bands, according to Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sara Heady.
This year’s parade theme is “It’s The Most Wonderful time of the Year.”
Bands scheduled to participate include the Grady County Middle School Bands, the Pelham High School Band, the Thomasville High School Band, and the Cairo High School Band.
A new feature offered by the chamber will be shuttles for children from the chamber office to their float or parade meeting spot.
Chamber Ambassadors will be piloting the shuttles and parents and guardians are required to speak with an Ambassador to arrange a shuttle and not just drop children off in the parking lot.
“It’s important that the adults speak with our Ambassadors and not just drop off their kids to catch a shuttle,” Heady said.
Chamber officials remind everyone that throwing candy or other items from a moving vehicle or float is prohibited during the Christmas Parade.
The parade steps off at 7 p.m. next Thursday evening, Dec. 7.
