First National teams up with Boys and Girls Club

For those in the market for gently used furniture, accessories and even two crystal chandeliers, First National Bank’s charity auction to be held Friday is a visit worth taking.
First National has teamed up with the Jackie Robinson Boys and Girls Club of Cairo and Grady County and is auctioning off surplus furniture and more to benefit the club.
The silent auction will be held at the bank beginning at 10 a.m. this Friday, Oct. 27, and running through 4 p.m.
Prospective bidders are welcome to drop by the bank to inspect the auction items during regular bank hours leading up to the day of the auction.
The bank has recently completed a remodeling, including fresh paint, flooring and new furnishings.
“With our overall commitment to our community, we knew we wanted to do something with the furniture that would benefit our local children,” said Cairo Market President Barry Pollock. “Our Director of Retail and Marketing, Lorenda Smith, has conducted similar successful auctions in the past with funds going to a local charity and we loved the idea,” Pollock added.
No bids will be accepted prior to 10 a.m. and absolutely no bid will be accepted after 4 p.m. The highest bidders will be notified by telephone at the conclusion of the auction and will also be required to pay for their items and remove them from the bank by 5:30 p.m. Friday.
All proceeds of the auction will benefit the local Boys & Girls Club.
