A few tickets remain for Historical Society’s “Big Picnic”

Tickets for the Grady County Historical Society’s “Big Picnic” fundraiser and social affair are going fast and only a few remain unsold.
The event will be held next Thursday night, Sept. 21, and organizers encourage all interested to purchase their tickets right away.
The picnic will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Bell Jr., between Cairo and Whigham at 235 Hilltop Lane.
Planning and coordination of the event is headed up by Historical Society Picnic Chairman Yvonne Childs and her committee, which includes Beverly Cliett, Juanita Faircloth, Linda Stringer and Heidi Woods.
The picnic begins at 6:30 p.m. The meal, catered by Carol Oates, will be served as guests arrive. During the meal, the father-son duo of Brett and Ian Batey will perform and door prizes will be given away.
To wrap up the evening, guests will be permitted to tour the Bell’s home.
Tickets are $30 each and only 100 will be sold.
The tickets are for sale at Miss Myrt’s, Center Drugs, Hester Insurance, the Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce and from members of the Historical Society. All proceeds will benefit the Grady County Museum and History Center.
