Food drive is Saturday

Saturday will be a busy day in Cairo and Grady County. While making plans to see the antique cars at the Car Rally, and run or walk in the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club 5-K, remember to leave nonperishable food items at the mailbox.
Letter carriers in Cairo and across the country will be collecting food for families in need as part of the Stamp Out Hunger food drive.
People who want to participate should place non-perishable food (canned goods, cereal, rice, etc. – no glass containers) in bags provided by carriers and place the bag on or by their mailbox Saturday.
All of the donated food stays in Grady County and will be distributed to local residents by the Help Agency, an agency of the United Way for Grady County.
Food may also be turned in at the Post Office or the Help Agency, 1651 N. Broad St.
