Congressman spends busy day in Cairo Tuesday
Congressman Sanford Bishop spent Tuesday in Cairo meeting with civic, business and government leaders along with many young people. Congressman Bishop began his day here at Cairo High School and wrapped it up with a visit to the Jackie Robinson Boys and Girls Club of Cairo and Grady County.
At Cairo High School, senior Leigh Mobley interviewed Bishop before an audience of classmates assembled in the school library. The interview, arranged by teachers Greg Boyce and Jim Sellers, was recorded and will be used in American government classes at the school.
The congressman stopped in on two businesses, United National Bank and dogtagss.com. Pat Christopher explained to Bishop that DogTagSS.com assists veterans at no charge in getting hyperbaric oxygen therapy to achieve improved health. Christopher said they also help veterans locate counseling, veterans benefits, clothing or housing.
Bishop met with other business leaders during a Meet and Greet held at the Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce. He then concluded his visit to Cairo with a visit to the Boys and Girls Club.
The congressman was accompanied by District Director Kenneth Cutts and Field Representative Michael Bryant.
