Saturday crash claims life of local woman
A head-on collision in north Grady County Saturday morning resulted in the death of one woman and the life-flighting of another, both 68 years old. A nine-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Cheryl Moore Bulloch of Pelham was killed in the accident, and Barbara Keen of Ochlocknee was taken by air ambulance to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where she was listed in fair condition Tuesday, according to Caroline Ross, hospital spokeswoman.
The nine-year-old child, also of Ochlocknee, riding in Keen’s 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 was not listed as a patient Tuesday, and was presumably treated and released. Privacy rules prevent the hospital from releasing such information.
The tragic accident happened at approximately 11:08 a.m. on GA 111 at mile marker 24, according to information from the Georgia State Patrol.
Bulloch, driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, was traveling north on 111 when her vehicle crossed the center line and hit Keen’s pickup truck head on in the southbound lane, the G.S.P. reports. Bulloch was pronounced dead at the scene. A memorial service for Bulloch is scheduled for this morning at Springhill Christian Church in Ochlocknee at 11 o’clock.
Bulloch was a homemaker who also farmed with her late husband, Franklin (Bud), and her children. She was also former employee of the Grady County Board of Education, working in the cafeteria of Northside Elementary School.
Keen is a current employee of the Grady County Board of Education as a bus driver.
Bulloch’s complete obituary may be found on page B7 of this newspaper.
