Maxwell to speak to Historical Society

Members and guests of the Grady County Historical Society will learn about the petroleum industry first hand from a 45-year veteran in the field.
Next Tuesday night, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. Arthur Maxwell of Reno will be the featured speaker at the society’s monthly meeting.
Maxwell, a 1961 graduate of Cairo High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1965 and went on to earn an MS & Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Auburn University in 1970.
He worked for 45 years in the oil field service business and related industries.
The society meets in the Cairo City Council Chamber in the Roddenbery Building downtown. The society encourages anyone interested in attending to come take part. Refreshments will be served.
