GBI seeks a redheaded shooting suspect
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking for a redheaded man in a white pickup truck for questioning in a shooting incident in Whigham Saturday morning.
The suspect is accused of shooting at an unnamed man in a wooded area on Harrell Road around 7:30 a.m.
After processing the scene and interviewing the witness and others in the area, investigators determined there were multiple shots fired, according to Jamy Steinberg, Special Agent In Charge of the GBI’s Thomasville office.
Investigators say the suspect has dark reddish, curly hair, light facial hair, and a long face and neck.
He was driving a 4-door Chevrolet Z-71 1500 pickup truck with 4-wheel drive, dark windows and a Georgia tag. Steinberg says the truck model year is between 2011 and 2014.
There was minimal dialogue between the two men before the suspect allegedly shot at the victim.
“It was very quick,” Steinberg reports. No injuries were reported in the case.
Although the suspect could face a range of charges from aggravated assault to possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Steinberg says he has only heard one side of the case.
“We’re looking for this person to get their side of the story,” he says.
Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 911 or the GBI at 229-225-4090.
