Chamber election now underway

Voting is now underway by the membership of the Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce.
A slate of six candidates has been put before the membership and the top three vote-getters will win seats to the chamber board of directors.
Directors serve three-year terms.
The candidates were nominated by the chamber’s nominating committee, which includes Chamber Chairman Brooke Jones and Directors Lynley Carraway and Paul Blough.
Candidates include Russell Pollock of Pollock Insurance Agency; Dustin Thomas of Southern Insurance; Jeff Johnson of Rose City Outdoor; State Court Judge Josh Bell; Candice Eubanks of South Georgia Tractor; and Marilyn Dollar of Dollar Business Solutions.
Retiring from the chamber board are Ellen Cox, formerly of Magnolia Place of Cairo; John McClenny of J&J Carpets; and Bob Hobson of Hobson Chevrolet.
Paul Blough has been named the chamber’s 2017 chairman.
Deadline to vote in the directors election is Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
