to be constructed
Grady County officials learned this week that a major north/south route in the county is to be resurfaced and new turning lanes constructed.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced that the resurfacing of GA Hwy. 112 from U.S. 84 to the Mitchell County line will be included in the Oct. 21 letting by the DOT.
This project will consist of 12.419 miles of milling and resurfacing.
In addition, district traffic manager Ivan J. “Van” Mason in the Tifton office of DOT reported to Grady County administrator Carlos Tobar this week that the DOT will also let contracts on the construction of turn lanes at Hwy. 112 and Gainous Road.
Gainous Road is one of the main access points to Tired Creek Lake from the north.
Mason told Tobar he hopes to have the turning lanes in place before the resurfacing begins this fall.
