EMC annual meeting moving to Family Worship Center

When members of Grady EMC gather this fall for the cooperative’s annual membership meeting, it will be at a new venue.
Grady EMC President and General Manager Bo Rosser announced this week that the Oct. 21 annual meeting will not be held at the EMC headquarters, but down the street at Family Worship Center, 1760 U.S. Hwy. 84 West.
“This location will provide better parking, safety and overall comfort in the case of inclement weather,” Rosser said Tuesday.
Traditionally, the co-op’s annual meetings have been held at the EMC headquarters.
“We appreciate Pastor Johnny Moore and his staff for allowing us to use their facilities for the meeting,” Rosser said.
At the 77th annual meeting last October, 1,100 people attended with 749 of those being EMC members, according to Rosser.
Another large turnout is expected as two candidates have announced plans to challenge incumbent board members for the two open seats.
Ronald Sellers has said he will challenge incumbent Caylor Ouzts for the District 2 post and Earl Stuckey will go up against H. Lamar Strickland for the District 5 seat in the Oct. 21 election.
