Neighbors on the outs after underage beer bash
A large party in Whigham nearly two weeks ago apparently spilled onto the property of a neighbor who was not home at the time. The evening after the party, that neighbor returned and was unhappy to find a beer can, truck key and fob and a cell phone on his back porch, according to sheriff’s reports.
The neighbor told sheriff’s deputies that he talked to the party host, and asked who had been on his back porch, but the discussion turned into an argument and 911 was called.
He said he wanted anyone who had been on his property charged and barred from his property.
When sheriff’s deputies spoke with the party host, she said that she wanted her neighbor barred from her property.
Deputies warned both neighbors to stay apart.
The party had taken place on Friday, July 15 and had included about 50 people with many younger than 21 drinking alcohol, according to sheriff’s reports.
Shortly after midnight, Saturday, July 16, the sheriff’s office was called to the scene near the intersection of Lacy and Providence roads to investigate a complaint of loud music, and three people, including the party host, were ultimately charged with misdemeanors.
