4-wheeling at dam lands man in jail
The Grady County Sheriff’s Office banned three people from the closed areas around the Tired Creek Lake property Sunday. A witness reported the trio to law enforcement around 3:30 p.m., after seeing two of them riding around the area on a 4-wheeler. The responding deputy, Cpl. Chris Jowers, found them in a wet area in front of the lake dam where their 4-wheeler had bogged down in the mud.
Charles Cox, 41, Cairo, was warned that he was trespassing, and then charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and littering. He was released from Grady Detention Center on Monday after posting his bail, Jowers said.
A mother and son also admitted riding in the lake and dam area and were warned they were trespassing and then banned from returning.
