Treat mom to band concert Sunday

Looking for a special treat for mother on Mother’s Day? Why not take in the annual Spring Concert performed by the Cairo High School Concert and Symphony Bands?
The bands, under the baton of John Scanling, will perform this Sunday afternoon beginning at 2:30 at the CHS auditorium.
The Concert Band program will include “Fanfare for the Third Planet” by Richard Saucedo; “They Led My Lord Away” arranged by Fred J. Allen and conducted by Drum Major Rebecca Roberts; and ”Into the Storm” by Robert W. Smith.
The Symphony Band program will include “Rhythm Danse” by Richard Saucedo; “Fate of the Gods” by Steven Reineke; and “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Phillip Sousa.
There is no admission charged, but Band Boosters will be soliciting donations for the band’s uniform drive. Contributions of all amounts would be greatly appreciated, according to Band Booster President Jeffery Cape.
