VFD working on pre-fire plans

In the coming months, volunteer firefighters in Grady County will meet with business owners outside the city limits to gather information for pre-fire plans. Seth Maxwell, training officer for the local volunteer fire department, says having this knowledge will not only help firefighters should they be called to the business, but also help with ISO (Insurance Services Office) ratings. A low ISO rating usually results in lower insurance premiums.
Maxwell says, “we want to see the layout of the business and what is stored where, and find out if they work with any hazardous materials.”
He says volunteer firefighters have already completed plans for businesses on Highway 319.
