And the nominees are . . .
There are 12 members of the Grady County community nominated for the five awards that will be announced at the 90th Annual Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce Membership Banquet Monday evening. Georgia’s first lady, Sandra Deal, is slated as featured speaker of the banquet, and the Cairo High School Jazz Ensemble will provide entertainment.
Nominees for Community Service Award, Farm Family of the Year, Professional of the Year, Woman of the Year or Man of the Year are: Louise Anderson, Carolyn Brown, Travis Bryant, Susan Chastain, Ray Connell, Candice Eubanks, Felicia Hunter, Johnny Moore, Charlie Norton, Pat Orr, Celeste Tyler and Ken Walden.
Jenny Law, chamber executive vice president, says, “It is such an honor to be nominated. These individuals are of high-minded and self-sacrificing behavior outside the area of their normal vocation and play a great role in the social, spiritual and/or economic well-being of our community.”
The names of the winner of each award will be revealed during the banquet, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, at the Grady Cultural Center.
“Congratulations to the nominees! The Chamber looks forward to honoring all the nominees . . .,” Law says.
