Girl Scouts to begin hawking cookies Saturday

Local Girl Scouts will begin selling the many popular Girl Scout Cookies this Saturday, Jan. 2.
Proceeds from the sales are used to help fund Troop activities and Girl Scout camps. “One of the goals for this cookie season is to make the trip to Savannah, the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scout founder,” says Teresa Gee Harris, Grady County cookie chairperson, “Please help make this goal a reality by purchasing cookies from our local Troops.”
Orders may be given to any local Girl Scout or made online. Anyone wishing to help sponsor a particular Troop should contact Teresa Gee Harris at 229-378-0273 for information.
Trooper leaders in Grady County are Teresa Gee Harris and Rosa King (Troop 450); Annie Bogan Jones and Michelle Derico (Troop 559); Amber Crawford and Amanda Russo (Troop 256); and Sharon Peterson, Geraldine Faulk and Megan Lokey (Troop 275).
