Two new members have were appointed to the Downtown Development Authority and a third member received a reappointment Monday night.
The Cairo City Council voted unanimously to reappoint Debbi Miller, owner of Miss Myrt’s, to another six-year term on the DDA. Mrs. Miller was first appointed in January 2008.
The city council also appointed downtown property owner Nancy Vance and Cairo attorney K. Todd Butler as new members to the authority.
Mrs. Vance will replace Veronica Washington, whose term expired Dec. 31, 2013, and Butler replaces Scott Higginbotham, whose term also expired last December.
Other members of the DDA include City Councilman Ernest Cloud, Nola Daughtry, Craig Brock and Mike Chastain.
City Attorney Thomas L. Lehman noted that Brock has recently closed his florist shop and that may create another opening on the authority.
