Dix is finalist for shop superintendent

Grady County Administrator Carlos Tobar is recommending a 10-year county veteran to become the next shop superintendent.
Tobar named Chris Dix the finalist to replace retiring Shop Superintendent Larry Hunter.
Dix, currently a Mechanic II, is the lone finalist for the job and the board of commissioners will make the appointment official following a required 14-day waiting period.
County commissioners verbally approved Dix’s appointment Tuesday and will ratify it at the board meeting next week.
Hunter is being honored for his 15 years of service at a reception at the courthouse next Thursday, Dec. 19, from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The retirement party will be held in the commission conference room on the first floor of the courthouse.
“Chris Dix is very qualified and has a positive attitude. He will do an outstanding job for the county,” Tobar said.
