City police bust alleged meth lab network
Three people have been arrested on methamphetamine charges and more arrests are expected in the coming days as an investigation unfolds, according to Cairo Police.
The case began with Thursday’s arrest of Karen Moye, 44, 1021 Fourth St. N.W., Cairo, for possession of meth with intent to distribute. Ms. Moye was arrested when Cairo officers made an investigative traffic stop on 13th Avenue N.E., at 8 p.m.
According to Cairo Police Investigator Dewayne Pearson, officers found meth valued at $600 in Moye’s possession and took her into custody. She has since posted bond and is free from custody, Pearson reports.
That same night, Troy Cameron Carver, 23, 1045 11th Ave. N.E., Cairo, was arrested while he was allegedly cooking methamphetamine. Carver was taken into custody at a vacant house located at 883 Richter Rd., and charged with manufacturing meth. Pearson says officers seized suspected meth at residue level from the active meth lab. Certified clean up crews from the Thomas County Drug Unit were called in to clean up the lab.
On Monday, Robert Kyle French, 45, 4371 Hwy. 188, Cairo, was arrested in the parking lot of Cairo Crossing Shopping Center, 361 Eighth Ave. N.E., on an active warrant of manufacturing meth. French was also charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute. Pearson says French has numerous people assisting him in the manufacturing process of meth at multiple locations. He says this is an ongoing investigation and he is expecting to make other arrests.
As of Monday night, both Carver and French remained in the Grady Detention Center.
Pearson says the Grady County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this investigation.
