Public asked to participate in downtown survey
A survey to gather information about how we use and hope to use Downtown Cairo has been developed and public input is needed.
The survey may be accessed by clicking here. There are several multiple choice questions and others that ask for input about what is already good about downtown and what opportunities are there to improve it.
The survey has grown out of Cairo’s participation in the Georgia Downtown Renaissance Strategic Visioning plan, a strategy program under the direction of the Georgia Municipal Association in partnership with the Georgia Cities Foundation and the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
Grady County’s Archway Partnership Executive Committee requested that Grady County be included in the visioning program, which is designed to improve the quality of life in the city and provide opportunities for increased private investment and employment.
The majority of the funding for the Strategic Vision is made possible to Cairo through its affiliation as an Archway Partnership community. The Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia Cities Foundation, through the Georgia Downtown Renaissance Partnership, will provide the remaining financial support for the program.
