Synclair Burks is now a Southern Belle

SYNCLAIR BURKS, a member of the Cairo High School Class of 2013 and former Syrupmaker majorette, has been selected to perform with the Southern Pride Marching Band Southern Belle Majorettes at Georgia Southern University.

Cairo High School graduating senior Synclair Burks has been selected to perform with the Southern Belle Majorette line at Georgia Southern University. She will perform with the Southern Pride Marching Band during football games and festivals this fall.
Synclair will be an honor graduate at Cairo High School next week. During her senior year she completed her first year of college at Thomas University. This fall she will attend Georgia Southern as a transferring freshman.
She plans to pursue a degree in epidemiology and public health. She is a proud recipient of the John D. Archbold Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship and the Grady General Auxiliary Scholarship.
Synclair is the daughter of Lisa and Randy Burks, and the granddaughter of Clarice and Emory Burks and Janice and Gene Thomas.
Auditions for the college majorette team were April 27 in Statesboro where each candidate performed a solo routine before a panel of judges and then learned a routine on site and performed it before the judges, too.
