Dates for radio forums are set

Voters still trying to make up their minds about which local candidate they should support will get a chance to learn more about those running for political office during broadcast debates starting next week on the local radio station.
Grady County’s AM-790, WGRA, is hosting “Decision 2012” political forums at the Grady Room of Roddenbery Memorial Library, each starting at noon.
The public is invited to attend the forums in person or listen to the live broadcasts on the radio.
The first forum is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 9, and will feature two men seeking to serve on the Grady County Board of Education, District 3, Republican Allen Jenkins and Democrat Marty Cannington.
The forum including candidates for Grady County Sheriff will take place on Thursday, Oct. 11, and will feature incumbent Democrat Harry Young and Republican challenger Earl Stuckey.
On Monday, Oct. 15, the forum will include District 1 candidates for the Grady County Board of Education, Republican Jeff Worsham and Democrat Mike Russell.
The fourth and final forum is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, and will highlight the race for the Georgia House of Representatives, District 173. Incumbent Rep. Darlene Taylor, a Republican, and Democratic challenger Haley Shank will answer questions.
The forums are moderated by Jeff Lovett of WGRA-AM, and the audience attending the forums in person are allowed to question the candidates.
