Play auditions slated for next week

Syrup City Players will hold auditions for a fun-filled musical, “Pinkalicious,” next week at the Zebulon Theater. Auditions are for all ages and experience levels and will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 21 and 22, at 6:30 p.m.
Based on the popular children’s book, Pinkalicious is the story of a rambunctious, pink-loving girl named Pinkalicious. Like all kids, Pinkalicious loves sweets, especially pink sweets. But when she goes overboard and eats too many pink cupcakes (against her mother’s warnings), she is faced with a problem: she has turned herself completely pink! Her doctor tells her she’s contracted Pinkititus and the only cure is to eat green food. With the help of her family, friends and a few catchy songs, Pinkalicious learns that one can have too much of a good thing.
