STEVEN BENCH signed commitment papers with Penn State in February.
Former Syrupmaker quarterback and 2012 Cairo High School graduate Steven Bench has announced that he will remain at Penn State University and honor his commitment he made in February. Bench and his fellow teammates were given the option to transfer to another school after the NCAA handed down severe punishments to the University in light of the Jerry Sandusky child abuse case. Some of those penalties included almost $60 million in fines, no bowl appearances for four years and a reduction of scholarships over the four years. Current players were given the opportunity to transfer. Bench met with his father this past week and posted on his Facebook and Twitter account the following:
I have decided to stay at Penn State. I promise this team is special and will SHOCK THE WORLD over the next 4 years. WE ARE PENN STATE!!-Steven Bench
