Cairo Hardee’s manager earns top award

CO-OWNERS OF PONDER ENTERPRISES Dan Ponder, left, and Ernest Ponder present Cairo Hardee’s manager Gloria Stephens with a $10,000 check after being named the company’s General Manager of the Year.

Ponder Enterprises, Inc. recently honored the General Manager of the local Hardee’s of Cairo with their highest award, General Manager of the Year.
The award was presented at the company’s annual GM Rally meeting, held in Callaway Gardens.
General Manager of the Year was bestowed upon Gloria Stephens for being at the top across the board.  Ponder Enterprises uses a ranking system with five categories that comprise individual awards as well as the top award of GM of the Year.
Those five categories include Sales Increase, Gross Profit Gap Percent, Labor versus Matrix, Serious About Service Score, and Hardee’s Assessment Score.  Each category focuses on certain areas that a manager has influence over.
Co-owners, Dan and Ernest Ponder, presented the award to a very emotional Gloria Stephens.  After two standing ovation and many tears, Gloria finally made it to the stage to accept her crystal trophy and check for $10,000.
“Gloria runs a great restaurant and she was in the top of every category that we measure.  She is steady and we are proud of her and the restaurant that she runs,” said Dan Ponder.
Gloria Stephens has been with the Hardee’s brand for almost 40 years and with Ponder Enterprises since they first purchased the Cairo restaurant in 1987.
Ponder Enterprises will celebrate their 28th anniversary with Hardee’s this summer.
Founded in Donalsonville, Georgia, June 26, 1984,  Ponder Enterprises now has 24 locations in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.  The company employs more than 600 people.
