County ups recreation dept. fees

The cost to participate in county recreation program activities will soon rise following action by the Grady County commission Tuesday.
On the recommendation of Recreation Department Director Becky Bracewell, commissioners voted unanimously to raise the fee for football, smurf flag football, cheerleading and soccer by $5 per participant.
“Everyone around us is way above us,” Grady County Administrator Rusty Moye noted and Commissioner Al Ball said that since he had served on the board the fee had never been increased.
The new fees are $25 for football; $15 for smurf flag football; $15 for cheerleading; and $15 for soccer.
“This just helps us offset what we furnish to the participants,” Moye said.
