Historical Society to meet Tuesday

COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER Joe Johnson is shown hanging quilts inside the Grady County Museum and History Center’s newly expanded exhibit space inside the Roddenbery Building on North Broad Street. The new quilt exhibit opens on Tuesday.

The Grady County Historical Society extends an open invitation to attend its next general meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at the City Council Chamber in the Roddenbery Building on North Broad Street.
The evening’s guest speaker is Jack Bridwell. He will be discussing genealogy in a program called “Find Your Grandpa.” Mr. Bridwell is executive director of the Museum of Colquitt County History and the Georgia commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He also serves on the board of the Ellen Payne Odum Genealogy Library in Moultrie.
Please stay after the program to share in refreshments and enjoy a first look at the quilt exhibit that opens Tuesday, April 12, in the Museum and History Center’s newest exhibit space. Many beautiful quilts, old and new, on loan from local residents will be on display. Quilts will be rotated throughout the year to showcase the diversity of quilts from this area. If anyone has a quilt they would like to share for this exhibition, please contact the museum at 377-5142.
