Internal police probe continues

An internal investigation continues at Cairo Police into the wrecks of two different police vehicles during a chase earlier this month.
Police Chief Keith Sandefur said all officers involved are continuing to work as the investigation proceeds. Sandefur said he is also awaiting information from an insurance company about the amount of damage sustained by the Crown Victorias, one a 2006 and the other a 2008.
Police Officers Thornton “T.J.” Anderson and Chris Miller wrecked at the same location on Upper Hawthorn Trail while chasing a car that refused to stop after it ran several stop signs and drove on the wrong side of the road, Saturday, March 5.
No one was injured in the wrecks, and the suspect got away until hours later when police got a tip on his whereabouts. Antonio Jerome Greenlee is the 26-year-old Cairo man allegedly driving the Dodge Magnum who refused to stop. He is charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude police, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, driving on the wrong side of the road and failure to stop for a stop sign.
