Candidates to spar in radio debates

Grady County voters who want more information about the candidates seeking office this fall may listen to a variety of forums broadcast on WGRA-AM over the coming weeks.
Forums will include candidates running for seats on the Grady County Commission and Georgia House of Representatives, as well as for State Court Judge.
The public is invited to attend each forum held in the Grady Room of Roddenbery Memorial Library. Each event begins at noon on its specific date.
On Thursday, Sept. 23, incumbent Commissioner Charles Renaud will face challenger Billy Poitevent. The men are running for the District 2 seat on the Grady County Commission.
On Thursday, Sept. 30, newcomers T.D. David and Cecil Rash will talk about their plans for the District 5 seat on the Grady County Commission. They are running for the seat being vacated by retiring Commissioner Bobby Burns.
On Thursday, Oct. 7, incumbent State Court Judge Bill Bass Sr. and his challenger, Josh Bell, will be featured.
On Thursday, Oct. 14, Republican Darlene Taylor will meet Democrat Haley Shank. The candidates are running for the District 173 seat in the Georgia House of Representatives, formerly held by Mike Keown, who is now running for Congress.
On Tuesday, Oct. 19, Rep. Gene Maddox, a republican, and Marjean Boyd, a democrat, will be the featured candidates on that day’s forum. Maddox is running for a fourth term as the District 172 representative in the Georgia House of Representatives.
Forums will be broadcast live on WGRA-790-AM.
