Maddox & Bulloch endorse Johnson

Two members of Grady County’s legislative delegation have endorsed Senator Eric Johnson in his bid to become Georgia’s next governor.
The Johnson campaign reported this week that both Senator John Bulloch and Representative Eugene Maddox have endorsed the senator from Savannah.
Rep. Maddox told The Messenger Tuesday he had decided to support Johnson after having served with him on legislative committees.
“I could never support his voucher bill, but when he called and asked if I could support him for governor, I told him ‘yes.’ I have seen the type leadership he exhibits and I think he will make an outstanding governor,” Rep. Maddox said.
“I am humbled and honored to receive the support of so many community leaders across the state. As Governor, I look forward to continuing to work closely with them to put our state back to work,” said Johnson.
The Republican primary election is Tuesday, July 20th. Other Republican candidates include John Oxendine, Karen Handel, Nathan Deal, Jeff Chapman, Ray McBerry and Otis Putnam.
