Some CNS Internet subscribers have experienced service problems

City of Cairo officials are asking for patience from some northwest and northeast Cairo residents and businesses who may have experienced service problems with their CNS Internet service.
Cairo City Manager Chris Addleton says approximately two weeks ago lightning struck Node 8 of the CNS system, which is located on North Broad Street near Citizens Bank.
“We have fixed it, but continue to have issues. Our crews are still troubleshooting and doing testing to correct the service issues,” Addleton said.
The service problems do not affect CNS Cable customers, but Internet and Phone customers could have experienced service interruptions over the last two weeks.
“We are doing all we can to correct the problem and would ask that customers please be patient as we work through these technical difficulties,” the city manager said.
Addleton says that most customers should not experience a loss of service because most of the work is done in the background, or that service is interrupted at times when most customers would not be using the service.
