Annual Father-Daughter Dance is Feb. 6th

All fathers in Grady County should be polishing their dancing shoes and planning to take their best girls to the annual Father-Daughter Valentine Dance here in just over two weeks.
The community wide event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at the Grady Cultural Center.
“The purpose of this dance is to provide fathers and daughters an opportunity to spend a wonderful, memorable evening together that will be cherished for years to come,” says Jennifer Hand, one of the dance organizers, “we hope fathers, father-figures, grandfathers, uncles, whoever, will bring the special young lady in their lives to the dance.” Mrs. Hand points out the dance is for daughters of all ages and denominations. Sunday best to formal dress is encouraged.
Desserts and refreshments will be provided along with a free gift for the daughters. T-shirts will also be for sale at the dance for $10. Lynn Watkins Photography will take pictures of the dressed up fathers and daughters beginning at 4 p.m. that Saturday.
The cost to attend the dance is $10 per person, and all proceeds will benefit First United Methodist Church missions and Cairo High School Interact Club scholarships. Tickets may be purchased at Cairo’s Miss Myrt’s on South Broad Street. Also, ticket forms will be sent home with girls in Grady County elementary schools.
