Sign up for weather alerts for Grady County
If you are interested in receiving weather alerts from Grady County Emergency Management Agency you must register with CodeRED. The county has partnered with Emergency Communications Network Inc. of Ormond Beach, Florida for this new, enhanced automated service. Read more or click below to register. With this new system residents only in areas where severe weather may strike will be alerted. Under the old CodeRED, which was manually activated, the entire county was notified. The new system is tied into the National Weather Service, according to Grady EMA Director Jim Ellis. However, if your number is not registered in the Grady County database then you will not receive alerts. “You must register yourself to ensure no one is ommited to receive weather warnings,” Ellis says. Those without internet service may call 229-378-2733 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to register. Required information includes first and last name, physical address (no P.O. boxes), primary and secondary phone numbers.
