JDA close to deal with two new employers

Grady County’s top economic official is hopeful he will have signed agreements with two new employers within the next two weeks.
Joint Development Authority Executive Director Brian Marlowe reported on his activities to the members of the authority Tuesday morning.
The two projects which Marlowe anticipates closing on are “Project Lift” and “Project Wilderness.”
“I had hoped to have a signed lease by this meeting, but there were four changes the company wanted to make, but they are still planning on taking occupancy May 1,” Marlowe said.
The new manufacturing company, Project Lift, intends to occupy the former Park Model Manufacturing facility in Milestone Industrial Park.
The JDA chief also reported that an agreement with Project Wilderness will be in hand at any time now. This is a retail and distribution business that would employ as many as 40 and would be a big generator of sales tax revenue. The total investment would be in the $3 to $5 million range and would be located in south Grady County.
