David is the son of renowned former Cairo High School bandmaster Joe A. David III and his wife Lisa.
The band’s visit to Cairo is part of a seven day tour that also includes stops at North Forsyth High School, Lumpkin County High School , Fannin County High School, Evans High School, Tift County High School and lastly a performance on Main Street U.S.A. at Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Originally founded in 1873, The Golden Eagle Band has been performing on campus and throughout the community for over one hundred years. This distinguished military band was officially given its present title in 1972. Prior to this date, the unit was known as the Tigers. While traditionally comprised primarily of musically gifted members of the Corps of Cadets, the Golden Eagle Band is also a unique outlet through which civilian students may perform.
