The Plath family of Cairo has filmed a second season of their reality television show, “Welcome to Plathville,” for the TLC channel, and the new season is set to premiere early next month.
Kim and Barry Plath have moved with the youngest of their nine children off of their 55-acre farm and into a home within the Cairo city limits, near their son and daughter-in-law, Ethan and Olivia.
Their teenaged children, Micah and Moriah, are renting their own house, according to information from TLC, but still near the family.
“They love what their newfound freedom is allowing them to experience!” states information from TLC about the teenagers. “Micah is embracing the ‘outside world;’ he is dating, traded in his cows to buy a new car and pursuing his modeling career, which includes a steamy photo shoot. Moriah is working two jobs as a fitness instructor and a mechanic, which provides her the money to support a budding music career as she also starts dating and meets her first boyfriend.”
Olivia and Ethan Plath are apparently forging their own path. “No longer trusted to see the younger kids unsupervised, the family drama had put a lot of strain on their relationship, pushing them to talk of divorce. So, Ethan cut off all contact with Kim and Barry to focus on saving their marriage,” the TLC information states.
While working on their marriage, the two, who seem to want to escape the strict rules they were both raised under, get tattoos, TLC reports.
Meanwhile, Micah and Moriah reportedly push their parents without success to relax the rules for their younger siblings still living at home.
TLC says of Kim and Barry Plath, “They continue to follow their own rules and conservative lifestyle; protecting their younger children from any outside, disruptive influence. The kids are still not allowed to use phones, access the internet and sugar is still taboo!”
The second season of “Welcome To Plathville” premieres Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 10 p.m. on the TLC channel.
