A project to reimagine downtown Cairo’s future plans and branding as led by famed urban and residential designer Lew Oliver has been rescheduled for the end of November.
The charrette had originally been scheduled to take place last week but had to be postponed temporarily.
Cairo Mayor Howard Thrower says the new date of the gathering with invited community stakeholders will be Monday, Nov. 30.
Oliver is the son of Naomi Oliver, formerly of Cairo, and the late Rev. William Oliver. His Atlanta-based firm, Lew Oliver Inc., engages in community and residential design and has been involved in high-profile community plans such as Serenbe, Georgia, and Rosemary Beach, Florida.
After gathering information from local participants on Nov. 30, Oliver and his design team will work several days and present their ideas on Thursday, Dec. 3.
