A 22-year-old Tallahassee man was killed in an accident on his family’s farm in Whigham last week. Robert Carson Buchner was working at the farm when the accident happened Wednesday, July 15, according to information from the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
Buchner was a 2016 graduate of Maclay High School in Tallahassee and a recent honor graduate of Auburn University where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. A basketball player in high school, Buchner also jumped hurdles and was the school-wide chess champion, according to his obituary.
Buchner worked at Quest Engineering and Failure Analysis and was a member of Grace Church in Tallahassee.
A memorial service for the young man was held Monday at Four Oaks Community Church in Tallahassee.
He is survived by his parents, Bryant Buchner and Tina Frazer Buchner, his brothers, Will, Jeb and David Buchner, and his grandparents, Maxine and Bill Frazer of West Point, Georgia, and George Edward Buchner of Nye, Montana.
