LT. TYRON GRIFFIN is the newest investigator with Cairo Police.
Cairo Police Chief Giovannie Santos has announced the promotion of a 16-year force veteran to the position of investigator.
Patrol Sergeant Tyron Griffin was promoted to lieutenant in the criminal investigations division of the Cairo Police Department.
Griffin, 47, started with C.P.D. as a trainee in May 2004, transferring from the City of Cairo’s Energy Services Department.
In October 2004 he became a certified Basic Law Enforcement Officer and moved up the C.P.D. ranks within Patrol.
The Cairo High School graduate says he is looking forward to his new position. “I am very excited and honored to have the privilege to serve my community in a different way,” Lt. Griffin states.
