Grady Electric Membership Corporation will conduct its 81st Annual Membership meeting on Friday, Oct. 18. The meeting will be held at Family Worship Center located at 1760 U.S. Hwy 84 West.
Voting for directors in Districts 2 and 5 will begin at 8 a.m. and close at 10 a.m. The business portion of the meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Candidates for the District 2 seat on the board of directors are Russell Fowler and Blake Stanaland. District 2 is currently represented by Ronald Sellars, who chose not to seek another term.
Incumbent District 5 director Samuel (Sammie) Perkins is unopposed.
Grady EMC members will get a “sneak peek” at the newly formed Cairo High School Show Choir. The new group is under the direction of Joshua Moore.
According to Grady EMC Manager of Member Services Adam Starr, this will be the show choir’s first public performance. The choir will perform a number of songs beginning at approximately 9:30 a.m. and will conclude with the singing of the National Anthem to open the business meeting.
The management, employees, and directors say they look forward to seeing all members at next Friday’s annual meeting.
