Farmers invited to Field Day
Grady County Extension Agent Don Clark has issued an invitation to local residents who may be interested in an upcoming Cotton and Peanut Field Day to contact him immediately.
The Georgia Cotton Commission, with the Georgia Peanut Commission and the University of Georgia Extension Cotton and Peanut Teams, will cosponsor a joint Research Field Day in Tifton on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
According to Clark, the purpose of the field day is to showcase for growers current research in plot side presentations by researchers. The sponsors’ goal is to provide an educational environment for cotton and peanut producers, giving them the opportunity to ask questions of researchers and to interact with board members and staff of the commissions.
“It is also a chance for growers to voice opinions and concerns about anything pertinent to the production of their crops,” Clark said.
The Grady County Extension agent says the field day is also an excellent opportunity for farmers to observe firsthand the research programs funded by their check-off investment.
There is no charge to participate, but reservations are required. If you are interested in participating in this event call Don Clark at 229-377-1312 to reserve your spot.
